Note

1929 ~ 2012
Norma Workman Drysdale died peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2012. She was 82 years old. Norma was born in Delta, Utah on September 11, 1929 to John Cornelius Workman and Florence Cook Workman. She had 8 cherished brothers and sisters. She graduated from East High School and later married her loving husband, friend and companion, Wayne C. Drysdale on May 7, 1948 in Provo, Utah. On May 17, 1957, they were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had four sons, Scott (Robin), Bryce (Debbie), Dean (Karla), and Chris (Kristin).
Norma faithfully magnified many callings for the LDS Church in wards from California to Utah. She also served a mission with her husband in the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. Norma was a "Bluebird of Happiness" who made life sweet for all who knew her. She had a knack for seeing the bright side in everything and helping others feel that things would always turn out right. She created a home filled with love, laughter, joy and cookies. In her own words, she hoped to be remembered as a "homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother." She brought nobility to the term homemaker. She kept a ridiculously clean house. She made blanket tents. She gave hugs and smiles and Popsicles freely. As a mother of four sons, she taught her daughter-in-laws to bake (among other things) an apple pie that will be passed on for generations. Norma loved to do things for others and touched more lives than she could possibly understand-because her most endearing trait was that she never knew exactly how great she really was. Each child, grandchild and great grandchild felt loved by her in a uniquely personal way.
She is enjoying a much-deserved reunion with her husband Wayne and son Dean, along with her parents and siblings, little Reed, Melba, Ray and Helen. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and siblings, Carol, Sterling, Wilma and Dean.
Our family would like to thank all those who loved and cared for Norma at Atria and Sunrise of Sandy including our dear home health agency friends, Erica and Lisa.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy.
