Lola Hacking Fowlke Lola Hacking Fowlke, 90, passed away in Orem, Utah, June 23, 2007. She was born in Cedar Fort, Utah, August 28, 1916, to her loving parents Thomas William & Keren Bingham Hacking. Her brothers & sisters were: Berniece Balle, Thomas LaVerle, Maurine Jefferies, Elna Wilson and Vena Elton.

Lola married Ernest LeGrand Fowlke from Lindon, Utah, in the Salt Lake Temple, March 12, 1941. They were blessed with 7 children; Lola Lorraine, Ann Lee, Jane, Keren, William Hacking, Clark LeGrand & Joel Hanks. Her sons & daughters-in-law are Dean Richards, Jon Overman, John D. Morton, Lorie Lofgreen, Valoy Williams and Jody Fritz. Lola & LeGrand have over 100 grandchildren.

Lola & LeGrand enjoyed 38 years of marriage. They were very committed, dedicated & nurturing parents. They enjoyed spending time in the mountains, traveling, reading & rafting. Lola loved riding horses, cooking, sewing and spending time with her children. Her most prized possessions were her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Lola was an enthusiastic educator and stressed the importance of education to every child she taught. She graduated from BYU with a bachelor's of science, taught in Washington School District for 3 years, Alpine School District for 12 years (including Home Economics Chairman at Lake Ridge Jr. High). She also taught adult education & summer school. She taught 4-H for 10 years & served as PTA President in the community. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she taught & served in the ward & stake positions her entire life; she especially loved teaching the people of Tyler Texas where she spent 18 months as a missionary. She loved Genealogy work and wrote a book about her pioneer ancestors.

Lola is loved & cherished by all.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Orem Timpveiw 6th Ward Chapel, 950 West 1200 North, Orem. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
