Mr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Taylor have returned after a week in Canada, where they attended the funeral of a niece of Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Kenneth (Lexie Hacking) Wood. Mrs. Wood, 50, daughter of Mrs. Frances Briggs Hacking and the late George A. Hacking, formerly of Cedar Fort, died after a lingering illness. Very active in church and community affairs she had served as a newspaper reporter and also assisted her husband in business operations. Survivors include her husband, three [four – Kenneth Grant, Benjamin Mark, Clark Gentry, and Brent Hacking Wood] sons and a daughter [Joanne Wood], and her mother [Francis Harriett Briggs Hacking]. Funeral services were held in the stake tabernacle at Cardston, with a large congregation in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor made the trip to Canada in company with another niece, sister of Mrs. Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Sheffield of Kaysville. Among those visited were a sister-in-law, Mrs. Amelia Osterioh Briggs and Mr. and Mrs. Nyal Fletcher (Freda Phillips) at Magrath. The return trip was taken through beautiful Waterton Lakes, Canada, where they remained over night., and Glacier National Park in Montana. They also visited with a sister and brother-in-law of Mr. Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Williamsen (Anna Taylor) at Kallspell, Montana. |
