She was born April 11, 1916 to Joseph P. Hacking and Carrie Claire Stringham. She married Howard Williams June 20, 1939 in Vernal, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is survived by son, Kenneth H. (DeAnn) Williams, Mission Viejo, CA; Daughters, Joye (Jim) Brown, Roosevelt; Jane (David) Boyce, Salt Lake; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Grant Hacking, Vernal.. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, parents, three sisters and six brothers. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many positions. She served a mission to the Family History Mission for 18 months. Upon release she did a six-month mission rotation for the next 13 years. After the love and concern for her family and her love for the Lord, the greatest love in Florence’s life was for the students she taught in the Uintah School District throughout the years. She always loved to see former students and hear of the successes they had in their lives. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staffs of Parkside Manor and Uintah Basin Hospice for the loving care and services that they provided. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2005 at Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on hour prior to the services at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Perpetual Education Fund (PEF) or the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.

Florence Jane Hacking Williams died June 16, 2005, in Roosevelt, Utah, at the age of 89 after a valiant fight against the ravages of Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born April 11, 1916 to Joseph P. Hacking and Carrie Claire Stringham. She married Howard Williams June 20, 1939 in Vernal, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
