Funeral Held for Hacking Infant. JENSEN (Special) -- Graveside services were conducted April 25 at the Maeser Cemetery for Julia Hacking, three-day-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. June Hacking. The services was conducted by Bishop Harvey McKee and the program included musical numbers by Lucille Calder and Mrs. Virginia M. Hacking. Rulon Hacking offered the opening prayer and Thomas Hall was the speaker. J. Ferron Hacking dedicated the grave. The child's father has been serving in the army in Europe and is reported enroute home. The child was born April 22 and died April 24 of a respiratory ailment. She is survived by her parents, a half brother Roger and a half sister Carma Rae Hacking (Fereday). Sarah Peterson Slaugh of Jensen and Mrs. Clair C. Hacking, grandmothers of the child who also survive her. -Obituary from Vernal Express, May 2, 1946, transcribed by Rhonda Holton Julia was born to Virginia Peterson Hacking and Junius Paul Hacking. Julia was preceded in death by a sister Janet Hacking who also died in infancy and is buried next to her. |
