FUNERAL SERVICES HONOR FORMER RESIDENT Funeral services were held in the Vernal Mortuary Wednesday for Jasper LaMar Bird, 71, Mr. Bird died of cancer in the Motion Picture Hospital at Woodland Halls, California November 29, He was born April 8, 1902 in Provo to Mary Jane Wilkins Bird, He marrried Josephine Hacking August 26, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 9, 1966. He then married Goldie Tucker February 1, 1969 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. He was a lab technician for Metro Goldwyn Mayor Studios. Active in the LDS Church and was an active temple worker in the Los Angeles Temple. He served a mission to the Eastern states 1922-1924, Stake High Priest presidency, genealogy instructor, very active in genealogy work, in the ward choir and was a former sheep rancher in Vernal prior to moving to California. Survivors: Widow of Los Angeles; three daughters, Donna Bird, Provo; Mrs. Murray (Mary Lucille) Green, Pocatello; Mrs. Russell (Marie) Schaerrer, Reseda, California; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four brothers, Stadford, Murray, Utah; Weston, San Jose, California; Ralph, Fair Oaks, California and Lynn of Conoga Park, California. Burial was in the Maeser Cemetery. |
