Mrs. Bird died Thursday, June 9th at her daughter's home in Reseda, California after a long illness. This illness struck her after attending the Bry Stringham Day Celebration and the following week while with her family and friends. She was born December 3, 1900 in Vernal, the daughter of Joseph Pearson and Carrie Claire Stringham Hacking. She was married to J. LaMar Bird and in 1931 moved to California. The prelude and postlude music was played by Laura Hacking. Leo Hacking offered the invocation. Virginia Hacking and Joseph Calder sang "Whispering Hope." Beatrice Stringham gave a few highlights of the life of Josephine. Laura Hacking played "I Need Thee Every Hour" on the organ. Harvey McKee was the speaker. Funeral services for Josephine Marie Hacking Bird, 65, Los Angeles, California were held Wednesday of last week at 11 a.m. in Maeser LDS Ward Chapel under the direction of Roger Hacking, counselor in the bishopric.

Mrs. Bird died Thursday, June 9th at her daughter's home in Reseda, California after a long illness. This illness struck her after attending the Bry Stringham Day Celebration and the following week while with her family and friends.

She was born December 3, 1900 in Vernal, the daughter of Joseph Pearson and Carrie Claire Stringham Hacking. She was married to J. LaMar Bird and in 1931 moved to California.

The prelude and postlude music was played by Laura Hacking. Leo Hacking offered the invocation. Virginia Hacking and Joseph Calder sang "Whispering Hope."

Beatrice Stringham gave a few highlights of the life of Josephine. Laura Hacking played "I Need Thee Every Hour" on the organ. Harvey McKee was the speaker. Roger Hacking gave a few comments on the life of Mrs. Bird. Grant Hacking offered the benediction.
