Shawn S. Briggs Shawn Sidney Briggs, age 14, Provo, died December 18, 1984 in an automobile accident in Spanish Fork Canyon. He was born November 9, 1970 in Salt Lake City to Dr. Leland S. and Mary Woolston Briggs. An 8th grade student at Dixon Junior High School, Shawn was an honor student, a Life sout, a fiine athlete achieving many personal and team hoonors. He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding the Aaronic Priesthood, and a member of the Oak Hills 5th Ward teacher's quorum. He had the ability to work hard, to accept responsibility as a leader, to achieve success and to love life. He is survived by his father of Provo; three sisters: Mrs. David (Lezlie) Wickes, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Kyle (Michelle) Golightly, Provo; Mrs. Gordon (Rebecca) Hofheins, Provo; grandparents, Harold Woolston, Orem, and Faye Briggs, American Fork. Shawn's mother and brother, Jason, both of Provo, died in the same automobile accident. [His father died January 11, 1985 from injuries received in the accident.] See Mary W.
