Deceased Name: DEATH: GERTRUDE C. ANDERSON Gertrude Christenson Anderson, 94, died June 17, 1995 of causes incident to age.
She was born March 9, 1901, the fifth of eight children born to Bishop Joseph Christenson and Lillian Rachael Brown Christenson. All have preceded her in death. She married Loran A. Anderson on December 16, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Anderson died April 17, 1936. After graduating from the LDS Business College she worked for several years for the Union Pacific Railroad, two of which were spent in Washington, D.C., where she served as secretary for a valuation study. In 1936 she went to work for the Utah Power and Light Company as Executive Secretary to the Vice President. This position continued until her retirement in 1966. After the death of her sister, Lucile, she raised Lucile's two children as her own. The son, Dr. Wm. K. Ickes, is Professor Emeritus at Texas Tech University, and the daughter, Luanne Ickes Lee, died in 1976, Mrs. Anderson had no children of her own. Her adopted family includes five grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

At the time of her death she was an active member of the Colonial Hills Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She will be greatly missed by her remaining family and friends.

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, June 20, 1995, 2:00 p.m., Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call the mortuary one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park
