Eleanor was the bravest. She submitted to a major abdominal operation to remove a large tumor without the use of any anesthetic. The operation was performed on her mother's kitchen table. Eleanor's choice was that or death. ELEANOR ANDERSON FUNERAL SERVICE TO BE HELD FRIDAY Funeral services for Eleanor H. Anderson, 84, mother of Mrs. L. Stanford Briggs, to be held in the Second ward chapel Friday at 1 p.m. with Bishop Stanley D. Roberts officiating. Mrs. Anderson died early Monday morning of causes incident to age. Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and civic affairs, Mrs. Anderson served as Relief Society counselor and president, and teacher in the Sunday School and YWMIA association. She wa the first woman to be appointed trustee in public schools in Utah. In her early life she was active in community dramatics. The daughter of John S. and Jane Clark Hacking, she was born March 5, 1865 in Cedar Fort . She was married to Alford Anderso in the Logan LDS temple April 17, 1885, and they became the parents of eight children, the five eldest and Mr. Anderson preceeding her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were early settlers of Rexburg, Idaho, moved to Vernal in 1890, and four years later returned to Cedar Fort. Since the death of her husband, June 28, 1929, Mrs. Anderson has lived in American Fork with her daughter. Serviving are three daughters, Mrs. (Fay) Briggs, Mrs. Ila Ault, Lehi, and Mrs. N. R. (Fern) Johnson, Colton, Cal; 13 granchildren, 18 great grandchildren; three brothers, George A. Hacking, Raymond, Alberta, Canada; Orson E. Hacking, Tooele, and T. W. Hacking, Cedar Fort; and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Cook, Cedar Fort. Friends may call at the Briggs home, 166 West Main, Friday morning from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will take Place in Cedar Fort.
