Deceased Name: Obituary: Mabel Cook Smith Mabel Cook Smith, age 88, of American Fork, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Father on April 29, 2002 of natural causes. Argie Ralph Smith on Sept. 15, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have seven children, 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Mabel was fourth of 13 children. She enjoyed her growing up years in Cedar Fort, Utah especially 24th of July water fights, rodeos, dances and spending time with her brothers and sisters creating their own entertainment. Mabel's brothers and sisters: Sheldon Cook, Thayrel Cook, Marion Cook (deceased) Edris Karren (deceased) Arvilla Taylor, Rulon Cook, Florene Henke, Donald Cook, Ester Cook (deceased) Bernard Cook, Reba Kitchen and Maxine Harris. Mabel graduated from Lehi High School. After her marriage they made their first home in Mercur, Utah. Later they made their permanent home in American Fork. Mabel was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various church callings in the Primary, Mutual and Relief Society. She had a talent in music and shared it with others. Mabel had a love for everything in life and she will especially be remembered for her positive attitude and never speaking bad of anyone. Mom we love you; Cleo (deceased), Laraine Burrows, Barbara (Gerald deceased) Anderson, Kenneth Smith, Marilyn (Moyle) Greenwood, Arlene (John) Heiner, Blaine (Jaime) Smith. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m. in the American Fork 29th Ward, 680 East 300 North. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery. |
