Norma Jorgensen Marshall, 86, passed away Sunday morning, May 27, 2007. She was born Sep 7, 1920 the daughter of Israel Calvin and Leona Elizabeth Rasmussen Jorgensen of Vernal. Norma was born in Vernal and grew up in Leota Valley. She attended Alterra High School.
Norma married Robert M. Marshall on July 14, 1941 and later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov 23, 1965. They had six children, Elaine, Marlene, Beverly, Robert Calvin, Rodney Wade, and Norma Rae.
During the first years of their married life Norma and Bob spent their time ranching and sheep herding in the Uinta Mountains of eastern Utah. They
eventually settled down in Randlett. Here she lived and raised her family. Norma loved to garden and maintain an immaculate yard. She took great pride in the appearance of her home. Norma also loved to cook. She always looked forward to family gathering out at the homestead. She played the harmonic or according for the gatherings. Later in life, Norma and Bob moved to West Bountiful to be closer to family. She gained a love for reading and working on puzzles. Norma never really liked the city life and always reminisced living in the Leota Valley.
Norma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in a variety of church callings during her lifetime.
She is survived by her three daughters and two sons: Marlene Folks, Browns
Park; Beverly Olsen (Terry), West Bountiful; Robert C., Beaver Dam, Arizona;
Rodney W. (Amy), Mesquite, Nevada; Norma Rae Cutter (Michael), Mantua,
19 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert Merlin Marshall, daughter Elaine; parents, Clavin and Leona; and her two sisters and three brothers.
Her graveside services, as requested by Norma, was on May 27 at the Vernal Memorial Park at 11 a.m., under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn
Mortuary.
