Note	Harold was the second child and second son born to Ambrosine Hacking and Stephen Wells Ashby. Harold grew up loving to break and ride horses. He helped his father on the farm and doing chores. Harold was a sheepherder most of his adult life. He enjoyed dancing. His niece, Lila Ashby Thacker remembers when he was young he gave her a beautiful doll with a porcelain face and curly hair. His nephew, Gary Ashby, remembers that he gave him a stuffed dog when he was young. Harold married Neva Burton December 21, 1940. She was July 15, 1908. They had two sons, Clyde Harold and Boyd Ray Ashby. Clyde was born March 20, 1942 in Vernal, Utah. He married first Janice Kay Lloyd August 16, 1963. Janice was born September 2, 1946 in Artesia, Eddy, New Mexico. They had one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Ashby, who was born April 14, 1966 in Vernal, Utah. They were later divorced. Boyd was born September 28, 1943 in Vernal, Uintah, Utah. He was never married. Harold died April 3, 1980. He was going to feed his dog, when he died suddenly of a heart attack. Harold was devoted to his family. Harold Clive Ashby, 70, died in the Uintah County Hospital of a heart attack April 3, 1980 and was honored by funeral services April 7 in the Maeser Fourth Ward Chapel.

Mr. Ashby was born May 23, 1909 in Vernal to Stephen Wells And Ambrosine Hacking. He married Neva Burton December 21, 1940 in Heber City, Utah. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a sheepherder and rancher.
Bishop George D. Merkley conducted the funeral service. Dee Hall gave the family prayer, and Daun White and Dorothy Peltier Sang, "Home on the Range." Leland McNeil spoke followed by Wayne Hall who sang "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine." Lorin Hacking gave the Benediction.
