Janice Spratling, age 67, passed away Monday August 12, 2002. She is now at rest after many years of courageous endurance of the effects of diabetes.
Janice, the daughter of Vern and Wilma Richins, was born on May 23, 1935 in Draper, Utah. She fell in love with John Spratling while attending Jordan High School and married him in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on April 20, 1953.

Being an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she has served in leadership positions in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations and as a worker in the Jordan River Temple. While her children were young, she served as a 4-H leader.
She is survived by her husband; daughters Sherrie (Jeff) Glissmeyer and Sandra (Perry) Jones (South Jordan); son John Brent (Cathy) Spratling (Burley, ID); 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her parents; her brothers Leland, Dan and Melvin Richins; and her sister Mary Hertz.
