AGREEMENT This agreement made the 24 day of June 1912 between Emily Hitchcock of 15 Whiteley Road London S. E. in the county of Surrey and Ada Steers of 104 Overton Street Ottawa Canada in the county of Ontario. Whereas the said Ada Steers agrees to take the female child of the said Emily Hitchcock; named Dorothy Hitchcock and adopt her as her own child to feed her cloth her and solely look after her in sickness and in health for the remainder of her life & Edward John Steers husband of the above, also agrees to take the said Dorothy Hitchcock under his care and protection as his own child and to and to give her the same benefits in his lifetime and at his death as his own children (if any) and that her name shall be known as Dorothy Hitchcock Steers hereafter; The said Edward & Ada Steers also agree to allow the said Emily Hitchcock and her father Jacob Hitchcock to visit the said child whenever they wish; And the said Emily Hitchcock agrees to hand over to Ada and Edward Steers her daughter Dorothy and give up all claim of her; No moneys of any kind to be received from either of the above partys after the above date.
