Note	Robert was a member of the clergy who was sent by the Church Missionary Society to Canada in 1840. He was the minister at the Rapids settlement until he and Emma returned to England in 1851. They had three children in 'Prince Rupert's Land' then thier daughter Emma was born in Bexley Heath within a few months of their arrival back her. In 1856 Robert was appointed minister of Ubbeston in rural Suffolk. He died there in 1876. Robert and his family appear to have spent sometime in London, maybe with relatives of Emma’s mother. Then in 1856 Robert was appointed vicar of Ubbeston in Suffolk. They were the first family to live in the village rectory as local philanthropist Edmund Holland had only recently purchased the building, at a cost of £600, for the parish. This was to be their home until Robert died in 1876, aged fifty-six.
