Ottawa Journal - October 30, 1950 - Joseph B. Faris Dies of Injuries When Hit by Truck

Joseph Burroughs Faris, injured when struck by a truck near his Breckenridge, Que., home on October 16, died in Ottawa Civic Hospital Saturday. He was 69.

An autopsy was performed Saturday by Coroner Dr. W.T. Shirreff. No decision as to an inquest has been made. The investigation is being continued by Sgt. Gaston Gareau, of the Quebec Provincial Police.

The funeral was held today at two pm, at the Radmore Stewart chapel, Rev. C.H. Dawes, of Aylmer United Church, officiated, and burial was made at Eardley.

A son of the late Robert Faris and his wife, Eleanor Radmore, he was born and educated at Eardley. He was married in 1912 at Hudson, Que., to Blanche Elizabeth Hodgson, who survives. Mr. Faris attended Breckenridge United Church.

Surviving besides his widow are, two daughters, Mrs. Neil Maclean, St. Laurent, Que., and Mrs. Arthur Day, Buckingham; three brothers, William H. Hull, George A., of Ottawa, and Alfred I. Faris, Breckenridge; four sisters, the Misses Fanny and Annie Faris, and Mrs. Ernest Hodgins, all of Breckenridge, and Mrs. Noble Hamilton, Quyon.
