Born SaturDay 13 May 1780 => 8 Iyyar 5540 Family name HeimanN / Haymann/ Heymann changed from Henriques The family oral history says that he was married twice, how ever MarcHeymann cannot find any evidence of this He was an accountant / Businessman / merchant. 22 -3 - 1617 King Christian IV. signed the estAblishment document for thetown of Glueckstadt, SCHLESWIG HOLStein. In 1617 King Christian IV of Denmark invited Jewish immigration into thenewly estAblished town of Glueckstadt, Many Jews were Marrano's (ie they hid their Jewish identity especiallyfrom the Inquisition by pretending to convert to Christianity andoutWardly the practiced Christianity but inside their homes hidden fromview). They Remained Jews. Many Jews became very successfuly merchants, trading thru' out Europe(often through connections with other family members who were expelledfrom Spain & Portugal and had migrated through out the known World). In the Citizenship register of Glueckstadt many Jews are mentionedincluding ancestors of Michael. It appears that the family he left behind in Moisling were forced bygovernment decree to change their name in 1810 to Lissauer. |
