Note

1594/5 - Not sure that these are the correct parents. The mother is not named in the baptism.

It is not certain that the Nicholas that married Joan is the same Nicholas that was baptised in Rendham.

Daniel, Thomas and Jonah are thought to be brothers. Nicholas has a son Daniel by his wife Joan - but no Thomas or Jonah.

A Nicholas Wayth married an Ann Bateman at Great Glemham on 8 Aug 1820. Possibly this Nicholas is a cousin. Joan is definitely Joan in the Brandeston PRs and Ann Bateman is the daughter of Robert & Frances Bateman Bapt 13th April 1593 at Great
Glemham.

Note

There is a marriage entry in Gt Glemham for Nicholas Wayth and Ann Bateman in 1620. This could in fact be the marriage record for Nicholas & Joan (the second family in Brandeston). The timing is perfect. There is a problem with the different
given names of the wife (Ann vs Joan). I had another look at the marriage entry. It is a very faded entry and difficult to read but I would still read it as "Ann". However it is not clear enough to be conclusive - at a stretch it could be Joan

Note

The timing of this marriage suggests that itis the second marriage for Nicholas of Brandeston.

There are no further references to Nicholas Wayth's family in Brandeston after the death of his wife Joan in 1636. This suggests that they left Brandeston. I speculate that Nicholas went to Stratford St Andrew.
