Note

It was previously thought that Elizabeth was the daughter of John & Elizabeth Gudgeon of Oakley (near Eye) born in 1769. Although this was not a good match for her reputed year of birth of 1772.
This was further complicated beCause Elizabeth Gudgeon of Oakley married William Chapman of St Lawrence, Ipswich in February 1791. William & Elizabeth Chapman appear to have had a daughter in 1797 and other likely children in Norfolk.
