Note

"Apoplexy from excessive drinKing"

Donald Kirkham
John Langsford was the publican at the London Inn, St Neot, Cornwall (it
still stands just opposite the parish church). Apparently he enjoyed his
work a little too much as the parish burial register for his burial, 27 Aug
1833, notes "aged 53" and "apoplexy from excessive drinKing".

His wife Mary is listed in the 1841 census as "publican" so she must have
carried on the family business.

In the 1851 census their son William is listed as the publican but his
tenure was short lived as he died of consumption.
