Will of Thomas Thompson dated 7 Oct 1837. His gold watch, chain and seals to dear son Thomas and to be deliverd to him immediately after his demise. Dear wife Isabella given an annuity of £50 p.a. provided she does not remarry, reduced to £10 p.a. should she remarry , and in such event to be given to her free of the control of her husband. Said amounts to be paid quarterly. Dear son Lewis, an annuity of £30 p.a. paid quarterly. Payments will cease should he 'grant, bargain, sell, transfer,assign, encumber or in any manner dispose or anticipate the annuity or any part thereof'. Remainder of estate equally divided between dear sons Thomas and Matthew and dear daughter Isabella. Monies advanced during his lifetime to son Thomas to be taken as part of his share, but not to be repaid into the estate. Executors - his sons Matthew and Thomas, and dear friends Alexander Reed, dealer in China, Newcastle, and Nathanial Hindhaugh, merchant of Newcastle.
