Note
|
Ada was the youngest child. She worked as a secretary and/or PA to several high-powered men, British European Airways boss being one of them. Strong willed but good fun. A good golfer. Had affairs with men but never married. She said no one was good enough for her! Sent by parents to stay with Horace and Florence once after one of her affairs was over, but she hated it. A painter, but a bit of a copyist rather than producing much original work. Had a big stroke and then lived in wardened accomodation in Burnham, Bucks. After she inherited from Amy and Dorothy, a trust fund was set up to pay for her Home bills for her life. Then her nieces and nephews to inherit in varied shares. Taken by John and Brenda Cox to live near them in Parkstone, Poole where she lived, first in a rest home, then a nursing home until her death. Signs of Alzheimers, very nervous and hated to leave the Home. In July 1996 fell and cracked 3 ribs, probably after another stroke, fell again and cracked her hipbone. Indomitably tried to live but it is said that she died peacefully in the afternoon at the Marlborough Nursing Home. |
