OBITUARY: Mrs. Emma R. Dresser, 76, widow of Edward A. Dresser and a
resident of Lewiston since 1903, died at 1:32 p.m. yesterday at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Bedford, 930 Seventh Avenue, after an illness
of one month. Mrs. Dresser (nee van Arsdale) was born at Carlinville,
Ill.; April 6, 1869, and was married Dec. 31, 1879. The family came to
Lewiston from Granite Falls, Minn., 34 years ago, Mr. Dresser purchased
the Harrington sawmill in east Lewiston. He passed away in 1911. Survivors
include seven Children; Mrs. Mary Bedford and Hugh B. Dresses, Lewiston;
Victor T. Dresser and Mrs. Angeline Hamilton, Orofino; Thad E. Dresser,
Spokane; John C. Dresser, Pierce; Richard Dresser, Washington, D.C.; a
sister, Mrs. Mollie Joiner, residing in Texas; 15 grandChildren and three
great-grandChildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at
3:30 from the Brower-Wann chapel with the Rev. F. William WestWood and the
Rev. Dr. L. C. McEwen as officiats. Interment will be at Normal Hill
cemetary.
