ARSDALE

Horace van Arsdale, who was well known in this vicinity died suddenly this
morning at his home four and one-half Miles north-west of Hiattville. He
had just recently returned home after being confined in a hospital with a
Broken leg. He was believed to be improving rapidly until his Death this
morning. Mr. van Arsdale was born in Carroll County, Illinois, USA, December
10, 1882, to T. J. van Arsdale and Martha Reagan van Arsdale. He married
Linnett Davis March 30, 1911, in Ft. Scott. He had lived in the vicinity
of Fort Scott since he came here from Illinois, USA when small. Mr. van Arsdale
is survived by his wife and Children, Hazle William, in Europe with the
army and Mrs. Melvin Hawkins, formerly Edna van Arsdale, who now lives on
Route 5 of this city. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Bates
of Fort Scott and Mrs. Lee Vail of Pittsburg, and one Brother, Walter Van
Arsdale of Hepler. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Hiattville.
The funeral arrangements await word from his son, Hazle William, who is
expected to arrive home soon. The body is at the Konantz Funeral Home.
Interment in Marion Cemetary.
