Victor Emmanuel III was a member of the House of Savoy and King of Italy. In addition, he claimed the crowns of Ethiopia and Albania and claimed the titles Emperor of Ethiopia (1936–41) and King of Albania (1939–43) which were unrecognised bythe Great Powers in 1937 and 1939, respectively. During his Long reign, the Kingdom of Italy became involved in two World Wars. His reign also encompassed the birth, rise and fall of Italian Fascism. |
