Note

William Butler married his servant, Bridget Power, sometime between march 18th 1822 and june 1823 when he died. These extracts are from Happy Families, a serial published since 1968 in The Journal of the Butler Society. This is a continuing record of research into the genealogy of many different families named Butler. This is compiled by Lord Dunboyne, for use by members of the Butler Society.
Garlic Hill is just outside the border of Sranagalloon, and, according to the Down Survey Map, was a separate parcel of land not attached to any townland at that time. The house was built in 1825 and was a large slated farm house, this was the residence of Michael & Emily Butler, then William & Mary - Ellen Butler and finally William Butler who died in 1974. The house is now vacent and has fallen into decay.
