Note

Born in Molynew House, Crosby Road, North Waterloo in West Derby, Dorothy worked on Gyroscopes during WWII. Her husband "ran off" with another woman when Brenda (her daughter) was just six months old! The "other woman", Brenda Jones, came from Wales.

Dorothy used to look after Michael Bentine's children, one of whom had a role in the film ‘Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang’. Clementina, Michael's wife, would not use the sidecar on his motorbike so Dorothy would take her place.

Along with Harry Secombe, Spike Milligan and Peter Sellers, Michael Bentine formed "The Goon Show" in 1951. They'd often entertain the children around the fireplace, practicing their new comedy sketches.

Dorothy met and married a Fishmonger. He had three sons of his own and together they had another. They moved quite often and after all their children had grown up, and they'd both retired, Dorothy and Ernest kept moving. They moved to Rushington, Ferndown, Sixpenny Handley and Cranbourne. Ernest died there, and Dorothy still lives on 'The Royal Chase'.
